Acuvance Xarvis & Luxon Agile Part 01

The YD2-WHS is running great but it needs some serious electronic upgrades to smooth out the low end and get more power high up. Having a finely tuned chassis is only one part of the puzzle to getting a smoother running car, electronics play a huge part - including the cost!
I have already invested in the Acuvance eco system of products including a TAO II so there really were only two options for a new ESC, the already established Tachyon Airia or the new Xarvis ESC.
The are many differences in terms of build, features and the way they deal with heat.
The Airia is the flagship
Ceramic fanless cooling
Expanded feature set via brain unit
Bluetooth wireless control
i-Light system support ( wireless control over lights! )
real time logging
rev limiting
and more..
The Xarvis whilst it has the same settings for adjustments lacks any wireless support and i-light support along with data logging. Its also fanless for silent operation however its cased in a solid alloy block with mounts for a cooling fan...
I decided to go with the Xarvis for three reasons,
1) It was cheaper!
2) It has the same running settings as the Airia, for actual driving this is just fine provided you own a TAO II
3) I wanted a point of comparison against my existing Airia from another Acuvance product.

For the motor I chose the Acuvance Luxon Agile 10.5t, its hard to imagine a smoother motor than the luxon dual bs but based on user feedback it seems the Agile is the bomb, so Agile it is!

The two together look pretty nice, the Xarvis looks super neat and modern. The build quality is as expected from Acuvance - super high end quality with little things like motor wires pre-tinned for soldering and all black acuvance branded cables making it that bit nicer. The Agile motor comes with bullet connectors pre soldered so setup time was really quick and easy!

For battery connectors I used the Pro-Spec L shape bullets. They have an alloy housing and look very neat.
The part no is
Pro-Spec HA-EL High Amp Gold L Connector

The pre cut wire length against the plug is perfect! Once again those little Acuvance details

After tinning the plugs and soldering the battery leads down, they feel super strong and look great! So much better than deans with heat shrink, more like a polished product from the shelf than a hobby grade ball of wires.

They come with black and red rubber rings that cover up the base of the plug, neat hey?

Next is soldering up the bullets that come with the motor, once again just tin the plugs and solder.

To keep the system smooth on the low end im using 64p gearing matching the stock YD2 sizes. This translates to a 27t pinion and a 112t spur, if you have not tried it I would recommend giving 64p a go!

With the system installed on the specially designed high esc mount, it looks freaking amazing!!!

Play the video to hear that sweet sweet rev limiter with my boost and turbo settings, if you have heard my team WHS Blue GTR-R35 then this will be familiar
Thats it for now, part 2 will have more info on driving feeling and comparison against the Airia.
Cheers
